Where the wild things roam

At what point did we stop following our fire, that inner guide that showed us our way. So often replaced by our shoulds and coulds as we followed our mantra of safety. As we shifted to the realm of statistical significance did we misplace the unknown for the one that would fit? Something became lost that called us to play, like the child who runs wild and barefoot all day. That’s how we ran; it hurt but our fires burnt bright.
