and make the ordinary extraordinary

From Push to Hold

Have you even noticed that push isn’t a great long-term strategy, that fatigue is guaranteed to show, and that a shift from push to hold needs to ensue?

Doing what you hate: push.

Doing what you love: hold.

Trying to make things happen that never seem to work: push.

Sitting and unfolding how it all really works: hold.

Drinking coffee to keep you going: push.

Sipping tea as you relax back: hold.

The Taoist had this idea of going with the flow, of following natural. That’s hold.

But don’t worry, miss it and fatigue is sure to appear. Then you’ll stop, be held, and find out which way it is that you flow.

Ultimately, fatigue may be the best holder we’ve got.
