3 Points to Finding Real Success

PlayIf you want real success, real wealth then you have to remember how to play, how to have fun.

I was watching a video of a young rock climber and her coach said “you have to love this sport, it’s too hard, if you don’t love it don’t do it”.

I think they were wise words not just for those inclined to hang from a cliff, but for all of us.

So if success is something that you aspire to, remember:

1. Success rarely comes easy, it’s going to take time and a lot of hours. Your only antidote to the slog is loving what you do, being called to it even when you feel like giving up.

2.The most important tool to learning is interest. My greatest teacher has been my passion to pursue what deeply interests me. Try as I did I never really mastered what bored me.

3. Even if you become successful at what you hate it will take more from you than it gives, ultimately you end up with a deficit.

We were all born with the ability to play, but for many of us time and conventional training reduced its relevance. But its flipped. Now if you desire true success then you’re going to have to rearrange your attention and discover what it is that deeply excites and interests you.

Because that’s the only compass we have.
